UNDERSTANDING THE IELTS EXAM
Listening

30 min 4 sections, 40 questions

Short conversations, monologues, lectures. Tests understanding of spoken English in academic and everyday contexts.

Reading

60 min 3 passages, 40 questions

Academic texts with varied question types: True/False/NG, MCQ, matching, gap-fill, and short answer.

Writing

60 min Task 1 + Task 2

Task 1: Describe a graph/chart/diagram (150 words).
Task 2: Academic essay on a given topic (250 words).

Speaking

11–14 min 3 parts — face to face

Part 1: Personal questions.
Part 2: Long turn (cue card).
Part 3: In-depth discussion. Examiner assessed.
